Probably a stupid question for a very stupid project. I'm trying to build my own FI intake manifold on the cheap (for Lemons), and I can't weld aluminum or SS. I'm hoping to avoid a lot of time cutting and grinding 1/2" thick steel, not to mention being able to buy a piece in a small enough size that it doesn't break the bank. Is there anywhere I can buy water-jet or plasma-cut mild steel weld flanges for common throttle bodies? Not having a lot of luck with my search so far. Or should I just stock up on die grinder bits...

Plate steel ; Drill Press , drill bits for mounting bolts and a hole saw for big hole?????

1/4" is mooore than thick enough for TB flange. I might even use 1/8" with steel. Cut and drill your own, as Ed says... I have used hole saws and drill press or even hand drill for stuff like this.

You might also see emachineshop.com as they could possibly waterjet you something easily and pretty cheaply.

Thanks for the feedback on plate thickness, y'all. I guess I've been thinking about the exhaust manifold too much. I found a scrap piece of 1/4" A36 at the local steel supply place for $5; that should be plenty for the cold side of the system.

check out https://www.txrxlabs.org/ or http://wp2.creatorspace.org/ and up your available tools. I dont know these spaces specifically, but mine has a cnc mill that would make the part, and welders if I decided to go with aluminium or stainless instead.

I actually did look into TXRX in Houston for some other parts of this project, but their labs are currently focusing 100% on COVID-related PPE manufacturing and not open to regular use.

I ended up making my own with CAD (Cardboard-Assisted Design), an angle grinder, and a big-ass hole saw. Having learned a number of mistakes in creating my first EFI manifold, I may revisit this in the future after I acquire a TIG welder. But not for a while, as this one works and it's more than good enough for Lemons.

I made an adapter to fit a GM Vortec throttle body to a Clifford intake using a 3/4 inch thick piece of phenolic canvas. It is fuel resistant, stable at temperatures of up to 250 F can be cut with a jig or a hole saw. Can be threaded if you use an insert. Bought the piece I used from an e bay seller, they have custom sized pieces. I used flat gasket paper to make the gasket on each side of the phenolic canvas adapter.
You could put a simple flange on your custom intake then use a piece of phenolic canvas to make the adapter that fit the throttle body to it.
