I just remembered an odd thing my first 270 V8 from collage days would do.

How I don't recall how I discovered this quirk. Or, why I still remember it, I'll leave that diagnoses for the next alzheimer's clinic visit...

With a stock electrical system, and the ignition in the off position:

Turn on the radio, four way flashers, and step on the brake.

Hold this position for a short while, and the radio will play when the lights flash.

No tin foil hats needed, it was a hardtop, and after it was the 1970's.

Now that I have a rag top, I will be raiding the pantry for some HD Reynold's Wrap to keep in the trunk... safety first.

You can get all kinds of bizarre electrical feedback behaviour when the hazard flashers are turned on, because they are the (usually cheaply-done) junction of a circuit with always-live feed — the flashers — and a circuit with ignition-on feed — the turn blinkers. This is particularly true if there've been non-stock additions, subtractions, or modifications of the car's wiring.
