are original rods 225 + twr forged piston strong enough for between 15 and 20 psi of boost?

If your tuneup is good (no detonation) and the rods are rebuilt correctly with good (ARP) bolts, then they should be fine. RPMs will kill motors too, and you do not need to turn RPMs with a boosted motor to make power. Stay under 5500 or so.
