I was at a dyno session ...
The result was 323 hp at 5ooo rpm and about 400 ftlb torque.
And it was done on a Dynapack
As you can see it was still climbing but i decide to stop by 5000 rpm
The boost was 14.4 psi
The power is rising quite fast....

Wow, Thomas; that's really impressive!

Thanks so MUCH for posting this!

I'm anxious to see what kind of power it might make at 20 pounds; any inclination to try that in the future?

Thanks Bill,
Yes i will try more boost soon.
It would be nice to have about 350 + at the rear wheels

That I can believe, that jump from 80 to 230 HP over just a 250 rpm band will probably make your car eat tires at a very fast rate, unless you have extreme control of your right foot! :D
Very impressive!

Hi Olaf,
I have turned up the boost to about 19 psi now. , its like riding a missile..
got about 350 hp at the rear wheels now
Its not just a tire eater , feels like the A904 need a doctor soon...

Can you tell me more about the injector?
What or where was it sourced from?
How can I find other injectors with that extended nose?

Her is a pic of the bosch fuel injector im using .( Bosch pt 1040 ) 1040 cc/min.(99 lbs / hr) You can also get them in 860 cc size. Note the extended nose.
with this the fuel spray doesent start in a mine shaft...
Quite good when you want less angle (about 30 degree) at the fuel injector bosses, to let fuel spray cone hit the valve pocket instead of the floor in the runner.

Hello, I found my injectors at a tuning company in Sweden. Performance Tuning
(www.performancetuning.se)

They are quite expensive.. But you can search for Audi A8 4.2 2007-2009 injectors.
they have this extended nose.I dont now the size of the OEM injectors.

Thanks.
I did some hunting and found that style of extended nose injectors are used in some Audis, some BMWs, Scion TC and a few Lexus models.

A place called DeatschWerks has the Scion TC injectors for about $100 each.

The extended nose will certainly make it easier to get the injector in the best possible position. :D

Thomas, a small tip, when you quote some text, you should do it like this:

Code:
[quote]Text to be quoted[/quote]

Including a name for the quote:

Code:
[quote="Name"]Text to be quoted[/quote]

And remember, no spaces before or after the text to be quoted.

Olaf

Hello, long time no updates... the car had to take a rest a couple of months because of transmission problems.
One of the shafts facing the converter broke into two pieces..
But i spend the time to fix a lot of other small things , mostly in the engine compartment.
I have done some heating shields to protect the wiring harness, and a cover around the air filter. And i also covered some of the pressure pipes with aluminum .
I found an old used a 904 so now its back on the road again.
My wastegate a tial 38 mm. have a pipe also 38 mm. facing just under the car. And my plan was to conect it to the exhaust system, ( later ) so i made an extension of the small pipe.
But now the boost pressure is raising much over the spring pressure, to about 22 psi..
THAT WAS FUN :D It realy was an unreal experience.. If i drive about 35 mph and press 1/2 inches . the car dont move, but the tire does..
And if i drive about 56 mph ( second gear) and press little more than half . Smoking tire
Very easy..
OK just one wheel ,but anyway
But of course its not good , with creeping boost. Probably i need to put on a bigger pipe on the wastegate.
Happy new slant year everybody..

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Sounds like progress. Check for leaks in and around the wastegate too, in the circuit/hose from the compressor to the wastegate. After a few months, I discovered ports on the top of my Tial wastegate that were unplugged, but I could not see. These created a big pressure leak that allowed much higher boost levels. Once I plugged them, the boost reached exactly that of the spring pressure rating. Now, if I want more boost, I just pull one of the plugs or put a controllable orifice in and adjust it.

Best wishes,

Lou

Hi Lou
I will check it out. Before i changed spring and extend the wastegate exhaust pipe the
boost was very close to the spring pressure rating.
Now i have a large blue spring (14.5 psi) , and its very strong with that boost level.
But when it reach 22 ... its like a jet fighter, a screaming animal
I have set the rev. limiter to 4800 rpm , because im not sure about the valvespring pressure....

Thanks for the advise Thomas

I agree with lou about checking for some kind of issue with the wg. I run a 38mm synapse wg and my boost is rock solid at 19psi currently. It's hard to tell by your pictures but your wg may have trouble regulating boost if its not in a proprietary position on the exhaust manifold.

great work and dyno info!!!!
