After all the posts I have read one of the most recommended sparkplugs is the
NGK 3459 ZFR5N

Then all my research on boosted or nitrous says

mild boost 1 range cooler plug

Lot of boost 2 ranges cooler plug

I am not seeing a cooler plug listed for NGK ZFR5N so I contacted NGK Tech support and asked them what would be 1 cooler and 2 cooler plug starting at ZRF5N specs

1 cooler = NGK 4291 ZFR6F-11

2 cooler = NGK 5913 ZFR7F

And -11 is .043 gap and would need to be adjusted per ignition and boost

Any advise here as to ZFR5N with 7-8 lbs boost thanks

I believe that is the extended reach plug. I would recommend NOT using that type of plug for a boosted application. Based on some experience with turbo cars (increased detonation and at least one blown head gasket and melted piston), these are not good with boost. I cannot say for sure as these (2) were not my cars, but I trust the folks who made the observations (Drakes and Sam Powell) and so that is enough for me to avoid them.

I would get one of the following (or compatible equivalent):

NGK GR6, GR7, BPR6ES
Autolite 63
Champion RN9YC

NGKs might be hard to find, but maybe their tech support could recommend a crossover? I like NGK plugs, but am running Autolite 63s in my turbo Dart now and they have been fine. That is what I could buy at a local parts store last time I wanted to try new plugs and was on the road. I have been running a 0.038-0.040" gap, but as I go up in boost I plan to close this up to 0.030-0.032".

Hope this helps,

Lou

Would these plug recommendations apply to a supercharged slant running low PSI ?
I am currently running the NGK ZFR5N plugs with a gap of 0.04" and HEI .

I have ran bpr7es lot # 5534 now I am using bpr9es lot #7788, I think they cross reference to champion rn63y and rn65y race plugs. with 10 to 14 psi I gap them at .025". seems too work.

Did a bit of poking around that I thought I'd add to this thread: NGK BR7ES is a non-projected tip plug with the correct sizing to fit a slant six and a cold heat range.
