Ah, nevermind then. I just wasn't certain what they were running and didn't have time to go through the build posts.
Thanks Greg.

Brian, Lou and I had a fun and productive ToadRacer development weekend at the Madsen Skunkworks!

We removed TR Slant 1.5 (original engine raced at Sebring with a slightly improved head raced at NCM).

And installed TR Slant 2.0 (all new engine with much better head, cam and more compression) with same induction setup for now.

We got it running and backed down the driveway and back into the garage. Tuning with the new power to commence sometime before the race at CMP in late April.

Lou built a new oil pan that is dropped about 3/4" with a Speedway kick out for increased capacity and ledge baffles for better oil control.

The kick out required us to notch the K frame just a smidge near the idler arm.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, so...

[[ WARNING!!! "Taco Pics" attached. My phone just decides willy nilly which photos to rotate. I ain't fixin' it again... ]]

1. No making fun of Lou's welds! He's a Chemistry Perfesser, not a welder! We leak tested the oil pan and called it A OK.
2. OSHA (and the fire department) were on stand by during Brian's Notch Notchy Surgery... No animals were harmed in the filming of this episode.

Good progress there fellas.

Those Goofy grins from Mr. Mimken had to be worth the price of admission.

It was a great weekend with Slanted friends. Plenty of success and progress, mixed in with some head scratchin' and regroupin' here and there.

Huge thanks to Brian and Rob for bringing the car and working together on this!!

Lou

You should experience what it's like to drive in the race... Not sure how exactly that much fun is legal, but somehow it is!

We removed ToadRacer (TR) Slant 1.5 and put in TR Slant 2.0.

TR 1.5 was fine. We raced TR 1.0 at Sebring with no problems and put on a slightly better head for NCM (TR 1.5)

One longevity concern is oil control, so TR 2.0 has a modified oil pan.

The other improvement since NCM is the much better fuel filler location. No more lifting five gallon fuel jugs under the trunk lid.

Another sneaky little upgrade that will give us a huge advantage in handling so we can out corner the other cars on track are these super trick lower control arm reinforcements Genius Joe came up with.

You may have seen other products similar to these that use thick metal plates that require welding and add a huge amount of sprung weight to your front suspension.

These ingenius (told ya Joe was a genius) inventions are not only lighter and do not require welding, they do not decrease your ground clearance like other products. It is believed that the chemical composition of the Vernors Ginger Ale reacts with the aluminum in such a way as to add great structural integrity to the aluminum alloy.

This is just another of the Off-Kilter Racing team great ideas that will help us to DOMINATE at CMP at the end of April.

If you want to be a part of history in the making, you should join us April 22-24 at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, SC.

That looks like fun! Limited to 40 entries and have to be an SCCA member though... I would like to get back into autocross now that you mention it... Hmmm...

All my junk (except ToadRacer) is 10 hours away...

I mentioned to Angie that her 2020 Civic would be a great autocross car... THAT ain't happenin'!

Hodor (Ram 3500 quad cab, long bed, 4X4) ain't quite suited to it...
