Adam will be racing ToadRacer at the Mopar Muscle Dragfest at London Dragway this weekend. I think it should run in the 16s. We’ll find out tomorrow. 1/4 mile Saturday and 1/8 mile Sunday.

Here is the Lemons Race Wrap up video from NCM.

We are mentioned near the end for winning the Index of Effluency (IOE).

Michael’s roommate, Bradley, gave me a framed photo from the NCM race for Christmas.

He really enjoyed hanging out with us.

Would someone please buy Adam a goofy hat?

He has a floppy hat like mine. He just didn’t have it on at the time.

Yeah, great pic. Thanks to Brad and thanks for posting, Rob. Yeah, I agree Adam is long overdue for a kooky hat.

I know I should have posted this months ago, but I just want to say how much I have enjoyed working on this project with these good folks.
As I watched Toadracer out there mixing it up at NCM, I had a nice sense of accomplishment.
I feel like I've had more than my share of failure in life, so when I get a taste of success it's much sweeter.
Here was something we had found, fixed, and improved to the point that it was competing with and even beating newer and more sophisticated cars.
It was exciting to see it keep its composure over the apex at turn 12 which spun many other cars, even though it has a live axle on homebuilt spring packs.
More speed, brakes, and grip are sure to follow in time, but I was so happy to see v.1 garner awards at both outings.
An undefeated rookie season - the stuff of Hollywood dreams.
This wasn't a fantasy though: I was there.
I made some new friends, spent time with old ones, turned some bolts, scraped some undercoating, and it was great.
My thanks to everyone who contributed time, parts, funds, and moral support to make it a success.

I agree Joe!

The sense of accomplishment is great. The bonds we are building by doing this silly stuff are priceless!

Thanks very much for your heartfelt thoughts, Joe. It has been a privilege to work with you on this project and get to know you over the years. I also feel very proud about how we are building and improving Toadracer, and how well the team is getting on. Can't wait to see you again, fingers crossed at CMP, but at least later in the year in KY.

Brian and I spent today wrenching on ToadSlant 2.0 and made a bit more progress than I thought we would. Engine is all assembled except for the oilpan and pickup. Even got the valvetrain assembled and cold lashed. I'll throw some paint on it when we have a warm day and I can open up the garage. We also started building the oilpan and got maybe 1/3 done. Cut the bottom of the sump off an Aspen/Volare-type pan, cut and beat the back end of the pan where the drag link runs and welded that back together, tack welded the sump with temporary struts to hold it 0.75-0.8" lower than stock, started cutting/fitting the Speedway Motors kickout. Did some wire wheeling to clean it up. What a sublime day with a wonderful friend.

Warmest wishes to all Toadies and interested parties...

Lou

Adam finished installing a much better fuel filler this weekend. Brian plans to come pick up the car this week to take it to Lou’s place.

Fantastic! I spent 4-5 hrs yesterday welding on the roadrace oilpan. About 95% done welding the sump back on (extended downward 0.8") and the kickout. Baffles are next...

Rob, are you guys still running a one barrel carb on the Toad? If so, I have some Phenolic spacers coming in for the one barrel applications. If you are interested, I'll send you one. I will eventually have a phenolic spacer foe the Super Six, two barrel applications.
Just let me know.
