Anyone out there have a definitive answer on whether a 65 Valiant trunk lid and a 66 trunk lid are the same? I know the 64's are different, but I have been looking at some photos of a 66 and my 65 and they sure look a lot alike. I am trying to get a light weight trunk lid for my car but no 65's are available. 66's are. Thanks for any help. I know I am probably barking up a dead tree! :D :D

I cannot remember, but I think 65-66 are same. Yours is a 65, so if so it should like the one on my Project V, with the big bend/crease in it side-side.

NOTE that the fiberglass trunklid from VFN is NOT a Valiant piece. It is a 64-66 Barracuda lid and they list it as 66 Valiant too. Nope. Been there. If you have found a true 66 Valiant 'glass lid, I will order one! Thanks for the info, if so.

Cheers,
Lou

I forget about some of the interchanges between parts on 64-65-66 Valiants. But it is easy enough for me to check. I have all three year vehicles, and will check this morning. I do know 64 is different.

Got a note from Dan and Hollander shows 65 & 66 to be the same.

http://glasstek.com/products/plymouth/valiant/

They do show one Lou! And also doors, bumpers, dash....etc. $260. I have an email in to them to verify. If it is correct I will probably order one shortly. Maybe we could get a deal on two Lou and have them shipped to one location and save some $$$ Let me know what you think.

Rick

My 65 and 66 are sitting side by side. Looked at the trunk lids, and they look different. 1965 is blue, 1966 is green. :P :)

There you go, won't fit!

I built a 66 Valiant convertible plastic model years ago. I used a 65 Valiant trunk lid in a 66 Barracuda body to make the conversion.
Seemed to me that I had researched the body styles and the 65 and 66 lids were the same shape.
Emblem was different.

Are you trying to confuse me Stan! :D
What if I paint them both blue? Will they fit? :D
