I am closing in on the later stages of installing a slant 6 in my M37. The truck did not have an engine when I got it, so I am trying to figure out the best way to vent the fuel tank.

The fuel tank does have a vent tube that goes to the engine room. From looking at the operator manuals it appears as if the original fuel tank vent ended up in the carburetor air intake elbow. I assume some of that is due to the desire for underwater operation.

I have also read here on one other thread that having the fuel tank vent into the carb or air cleaner was not a wise idea. I also remember Uncle Dan mentioning that the crank case has been used as fuel vapor storage in the past by some manufacturer, and it was a system that worked fairly well.

I am open to any suggestions or perspective on how best to vent the fuel tank.
