Have fun Stan! Been a long time coming. You have done a great job with it! :D :D

PS. just don't invite Greg with you. 1st time I raced the Valiant in 30 years Greg threw his driveshaft across the track in front on me! The entire run was a blurr for me! I was so nervous too! :D

So it happened!
Xtreme Raceway Park is a real nice little track.
We had a few issues, engine idles too high, had some fluid from the clutch master.
Tech inspection was not what I was looking for.
I burned up my old winch putting it back in the trailer.

But... I got it weighed, drove around the pits, checked brakes, steering, general check out stuff.
It goes straight, it stops good, I do need to get the proportion valve adjusted better.
It drove through the line lock on my weak burnout.

Sorry Seymour, I succumbed to peer pressure and I made one check out pass.
I know we talked about this, so I didn't wring it out.
It was real stable, straight, quiet ( that surprised me) and went into all the gears.
No records were set.

Here are a couple of videos.

Thank you guys for following along. Yesterday was the first time I have ever driven a Colt, much less a Drag Colt!. I have wanted one since I was 16-17, seeing them in magazine articles, National Dragster stories and just thinking about how cool to me it would be. This is the 3rd Colt and the only one to get this far, it is more than I could have hoped for. It was a blast!

Thank you Debra for putting up with this crazy man, I am blessed in so many ways.

Congrats Stan!. :D :D

I think you did exactly what I would have done. Glide down the track, make sure all the gears work...etc. Better to check out the brakes and stability at 40 -50 mph than a 100 + mph!
Very happy for you!. So when do you go full blast? :D :D

Thanks Guys.
1/8 Mile.
Not sure on next time out, I am way behind on home and family stuff.

Tech was just a little talking with the tech inspector.
He didn't look at anything on the car.
I didn't have drivers pants, he wanted me to have them next time.

Rick, I need some more shirts!

Another T&T at Xtreme in Ferris Texas last night.
100 degrees, 3000 foot density altitude.
The Colt leaves very hard, the first launch really got my attention.
Never had a car leave that hard, but never had a car this light either.
My Barracuda when I ran the 440 did not leave this hard and it ran in the elevens.
That being said, after it launches, it don't go like it should.
I put the Mallory back in because it was the only Dist I had that I knew the advance.
Total is now at 32 degrees.
Worked the carb a little with a couple of holes in the throttle plates.
This got me a little more idle circuit adjustment, a little.
On this pass the T-Handle came loose shifting to second, that is the blurp you can hear.

So many things are hitting me as I try to get back in the seat after all these years.
Trying to process everything and it's a high workload for an old man.
I am seeing the shift light, I think, about three times and I am seeing it in the lights.
If all that is correct, I don't think I can run a quarter with the tires and gear in the Colt.
I need to sit down and digest the little data I have.

Here is the second run from last night.
On the first pass I got a little wheelie, maybe a couple of inches.
But with no front travel, it just hops and drops back down.
It won't carry the momentum out past the tree.

Anyway looking for your feedback, what do you guys see and hear?
