Slantzilla, it does take a lot of work to go slow.
I know cause I am the only one doing the work.
However, that being said, when it goes fast it will be worth it.
Keep it up, I have earned the beatings.

I had to send the aluminum extension housing back to Brewers.
The rear driveshaft yoke part was sized for an auto trans OD dimension.
Smaller than the standard non OD housing.
The housing to me looks never run.
Not sure what the aftermarket application would have been for because the speed-o location is not present.
It is cast with out a hole there, completely sealed.
Dan is going to machine it out a few thousands and press a bushing in to use my driveshaft yoke.
It's PLENTY thick back there.
I will build up the main case while waiting for the housing to come back.

Also putting together the old 2.47 case I had built for a spare.
It was not race prepped, just a stock cast iron unit in case I broke the race box.
This will be in an A Body configuration.
If someone wants or needs a fresh transmission let me know.
New seals, driveshaft yoke bushing, rear 307 bearing, gaskets, etc.
It is the narrow shift "dog" style with good used brass syncro rings.
Has the standard front throwout bearing retainer, but Brewer has a OD sized one if that is the bellhousing you have.
Contact me if interested.

When the 3.09 box gets built I will have 2 aluminum cased Liberty Gear boxes.
Then put it back in the Colt and go see if the Weber changes I made help along with the new launch.

Still working on getting into the new shop.
I have an electrician starting next week to bring power from the house to the shop.
It hasn't rained in 3 months, so of course the rain starts next week.
Can you say Texas mud?

Working on new master cylinder for the clutch now.
I needed a new rod end bearing for the new unit.
5/16 vs 3/8.

I want to put a few passes on the Colt before I start changes for next year.

I don't even remember when I started down this new trans project path.
It's been a long time.
But, I just decided to use my old Direct Connection tailshaft housing and get the transmission together.
It was a challenge, like building an overdrive box you have to drop the cluster down in the bottom of the case.
The dogs on 3rd gear hit the cluster and it won't go in.
Makes it a lot harder to get it put back together.
I did learn a new trick after sweating a few hours.
I took the cluster out and used gasket tack to hold the 2 brass shims to the case.
Then put the cluster back in, the main shaft and gears then pull the cluster up into place.
Gluing the shims in place makes it a LOT easier.
Not easy, but easier.
So the "slantzilla-killa" is going back together.
