I knew that Rick, you are always trying to help.
It would be a shame if we don't get to run each other.
We came close years ago with the Barracuda at MD, but the rain got us!
But I really don't want to tow till I have a solid performing slant.

I might make it if the weather stays mild, the local track is pretty good about Sunday T&T.
But Thanksgiving, Birthdays, and other stuff might effect what can be done.

I got a new lever arm from Speedway for the throttle, it seems to be a lot better.

Now to start my To-Do list for next year.

Keep on Slantin!

Working on my 2024 To Do List.
I measured all my suspension travel numbers when I had the Colt on stands.
The numbers I get are pitiful!
I have some issues with the front travel that will require mods to the steering arms.
Travel is less than 1/2 inch.
I measure 1 inch in the rear.
I will able to put the rear shocks in my press and get the spring rates.
The fronts are almost bound.

I drilled a stock piston dome and got .32 thickness.
I plan on having my forged TRW pistons fly cut to get some more clearance.
I plan on adding some 1.6 or 1.65 rocker arms.
Also a little off the deck and another .050 off the head and some mild porting.
New rings and a block hone.

More to come.

Wonder why travel is so low?

Watch P/S cars from back then on YouTube. They didn't have a lot of travel to start with.

The old Colt design just didn't have much and like zilla says, they just ran up the RPM and dumped the clutch.
Strut front suspension helped as did 4 links.
I have neither of those!
I hope with my changes to get quite a bit more on both ends.
The Konis will be changed with longer shocks and new springs.

Got out to the local track for a T&T today.
Got two runs in.
No transmission issues, no noises.
First pass I drove it into the clutch and then dropped the hammer.
Best ET ever and my first 8.
Granted an 8.9, but still half second better that the best so far.
MPH was the same, which has me scratching my head.
Second run launched at 4000 and shifted at 6000.
Car slowed down back to a mid 9.
Same MPH.
So obviously the launch has to be right for it to ET right now.
MPH was the same as the first run.
Which is weird.
Anyway end the year on a high note, Best ET.

Is your linkage still moving and not letting the carbs open?

Glad to hear the clutch and trans are fixed up! Good to end the year on an upward note...

Yea, that was half throttle.
Just wait till I get them wide open, I might get a valiant stuck in the carbs.

Maybe a bit of a tack weld is warranted on the sketchy throttle linkage(s) to keep the WOT settings?

You need a stop under your pedal to keep from over pulling at the carbs?

That little thing should be outrunning my Valiant by a bunch. I'm just hoping I don't die of old age becore I see it happen. :P

Yeah, I want to get outrun by Stan's Colt too! I'll drive 1000 miles to let it happen. Not sayin' I won't try (how much boost?), but...

Not me, I plan to beat him! :D :D

I have someone hold the throttle to the floor with the arm loose on the shaft that opens all the carbs. Then rotate that arm until all the carbs are WOT and tighten the pinch bolt. Done! View throttle plates through the carb and verify they are wide open. Now Go run a low 12 second ET :D :D !!!
