I used put one on a 56 Chevy for a guy from Lokar, easy to do. For a race car I would look for one in a wrecking yard cause Lokars aren't cheap.

Great progress, Rick. Is the E-brake for state inspection? Yes, folks have relocated to the hump. There are some universal levers available. I think tsmmfg.com has some of that stuff, but I have not looked in a good while.

Also was wondering if anyone has ever hooked up an E-brake handle mounted on the hump between the seats like most modern cars have. I have good rear cables to my drums, but with my frame connectors installed it does create some problems up front. Nothing I can't fix, but the center mounted handle appeals to me. If you have done it, let me know how! :D

Rick

Rick, I had the same problem, But Mounting a Newer Center mount E brake is more trouble than it's worth in my opinion unless you intend to do some drifting.

Or unless you really have to have the look of the center e brake!

I just relocated the stock front cable from inside the frame to underneath the frame on ruster _I had to make a bracket out of some scrap angle Iron, Drill a hole for the cable to rest in and then weld it on.. I will see if I have a pic.

So I was able to keep everyting and only fab up one piece.

just My thoughts / experience.

Lou I missed your post. Yes it is for Pa State inspection, but really for now it will just be for safety sake. It would be a while before it was road ready.

I did make a couple aluminum brackets and bolted both rear side glasses up in their tracks.

Done stripping paint that is! Second door and trunk lid are now bare and ready to go for primer. I also rebuilt the door hinges on that door as well. I believe that is all the parts with the exception of the steering column that need primered. Glad that is done.

I managed to scrounge a box from work that the shifter will fit in anyway. :D

You'd be amazed how hard it is to find a decent box in a box plant.

Can't do that, they get real pissy when you try to pull a good one.

The one I got was from a roll of bundler tape.

Rick, made it to the shop today. Shifter will be on the way Monday. :D

My B&M shifter arrived from Slantzilla today (thanks D) and I took my other door and the trunk lid over to the body shop for their nice new coat of primer. I picked up the steel lines for my automatic transmission cooler too. I need to get the final sanding done on the dash this weekend so it can go back to the shop to get its shiny black paint done. Then the dash can be permanently installed and the windshield can go in, and then, and then....

Lou,

I need to get a driveshaft for sure. I have the yoke already. I need an alternator. I like your small one mounted on the Drivers side Lou. Remind me what that was off of? Maybe a Geo Metro! I really don't need a whole lot of large parts, but a lot of little things.

Do I have to have a cutoff switch if my battery is in the trunk?

I have the engine and transmission pretty well covered. Ryan is going to let me use his old head (already planed .100) I have a new cam, headers, intake, so that is not to bad.

I will try and make a list tomorrow and if there is anything else major, I'll post it here.

Thanks for asking,

Rick

Yes, and the battery either needs to be in a sealed/vented box or there has to be a bulkhead between the trunck and passenger compartment.
