Hey Rick,

I am looking at the gorgeous pics of your car, and the weber 3X2 setup. Can you take a measurement for me? I am looking for the distance between the air horn (trumpet) to the bulkhead connector (or wires sticking out). I need the measurement directly to the rear of the car from the carb horns to the wires, and if the horns are a bit below the connector wires. A pic would be great too, but I don't deserve to ask anyone for pictures...

I have a Weber setup brewing right now with a custom air cleaner/box and am trying to plan ahead a little. Given our lockdown situation, I might even have this setup running this summer. Either going on Project V or white 62.

Lou

Sure Lou! I love the Webers, and think they are the coolest carbs out there! Doesn't hurt that they helped me knock .4 off my ET too!! :D :D

Remind me if I forget this. Probably will have time tomorrow evening.

Well after getting 20 windage trays done and shipped, I finally got back to rechecking everything on the race car.

I finally fired it up after setting for nearly 2 months and it started with ease! I love these webers!! :D :D I had Andrew Shank help me verify the throttle plates were opening 100% after installing a new throttle cable. Topped off the Automatic tansmission after having it apart and replacing the shifter shaft seal. Verified the driveline was tight after replacing the yoke. Pulled the valve cover and ran the valves. Had a couple off just a smidge, but all in all pretty close. Checked the new fuel tank and fittings for leaks and made sure it was grounded. Verified all my electrical stuff was working after installing the new fuse box set up. So if I add some fresh gas and set my tire pressures I should be ready to race. Hoping Mason Dixon gets back to some normally soon. I'd like to go to their big Nostalgia race the end of June. But with 3-400 cars that were there it was packed full. So they may have to cancel that also. If our first race ends up being Wilkesboro, I may drop in my 4.56 gears and see how that does.

Ready? Pretty close. I need to give her a good bath and get some good fuel to mix with my race gas, then we'll be ready.

Is Ryan ready yet? Ohhh? Not so much. But it is not Thursday before we leave yet!! :D :D

I did add this go fast item to each side. Got rid of the "/ 6" emblem and put on my Buick Electra 225 emblems in their place. I feel better now! :D :D Not sure how much faster I'll be, but probably at least a 10th. :D

Those Chevy Citation emblems hurt my feelings every time I look at them. The Buick "225" makes me feel a little better!

Today we have better options!

I did one last thing before I get the car down off the blocks and test drive it. I have been wanting to put a small air dam in the front to help a little with the air getting under the car. It's not big, and probably not the greatest function that it could have had. But I wanted something that looked like it belonged there, and didn't affect me loading and unloading the car. We shall see if it does anything! :D :D

Once I got the car down off stands I sat it on the 4 wheel scales of Ryan's. With @ 4 gallon of gas in the 5 gallon tank it weighs 2554. With the driver in the seat weighing the appropriate 225# it weight 2779. So if memory serves me correct I have lost about 120# from before with the bigger gas tank. Should be worth a .1 or more. :D :D

Corners for the car less driver= LF= 693#------RF=743#--------------LR=570#------RR=548#
Front to Rear 56.3% / 43.7%
