Saw a Predator carb atop a SBC at Paradise. Wish I had one. That'd be some sweet eye candy on my H-Pack intake. Might not run good, but it sure would look cool. 8)

Is that paradise dragway 1/4 or 1/8th mile?

Appropriate that is off of route225! :D :D

I'm not running high eights in the 1/4
Like a lot of older strips it was once a 1/4 but has been an 1/8 mile set up for as long as I can remember.

I had a Predator on a 360 in a 64 Barracuda backed by a 4 speed and 8 3/4. I loved that car! It was all or nothing with that carb!

I was a maintenance company commander at Fort Bliss, TX at the time. The mechanics liked it when I drove it to the motor pool and set off a lot of car alarms with those Cherry Bombs.

Ahhh, I remember setting off alarms in parking lots/structures all the time with my 64 Dart. I'll take exhaust/engine sound over alarm noise anytime...

You two outlaws with your loud mufflers! My Super 10 hasn't set off one alarm, yet. :D

That was in my younger, wilder days... I’m very sedate now...

Back on topic.

Your Dart is still a street car, right? High 8s is pretty cool! 8)

Thanks Rob. Yup, still had lights, horn, all it's glass but is otherwise stripped out. It is fairly light at 2700 lbs. That may be my next move after the gear change, get some more weight out of it. Maybe an even bigger carburetor too. We'll see, lol.

Remember the sage statement from Mr. Pederson: "If you didn't drive it there, it's not a street car." :P

I can't argue with that logic Lou. I also can't argue with a 5 gal fuel cell. It's strictly a short hop type of car for me. Aside from that though, the car is very street-able and quite manageable in traffic. You were right about the converter, 3200 stall speed works just fine around town.

It was hard to argue with Seymour on that point. Driving it there never worried me much, making it home was a different story.
