Just use the silicone and no lube. Looks like a simple fix. You don't need tons of torque on the rocker shaft anyway. 40-45 ft-lbs (by feel) is usually what I do. Use Ultra Black or similar.

How about "Locktite" thread sealer?

I'll have to get the product number from the bottle out in the shop. I use several different locktight products.
Red thread locker
Blue thread locker
Stud and bearing mount
Thread sealant
Not inexpensive, but I like their products.

I am guessing you use studs on these. So you could use something semi-permanent and then not have to worry about taking the stands off?

He said just put silicon on them.
How do you use silicon and bolt lube, like ARP goop, together?

Just use the silicone. The gray Mopar stuff would be best.

The arp thread sealer can work too.

I am convinced that is is regular plumbing thread dope.

:D

Good luck!

I’ve used the Loctite thread sealant on manifold studs, water pump mounting bolts, temp gauge fittings, plugs, anywhere threaded parts are exposed to the cooling system. Applied per the manufacturer directions, I’ve had not issues on any of these applications.

I looked at my bottle, but the label is unreadable, so I don't know the part number. didn't have time to try and look it up. Locktite products are pricey, but they do work as advertised.

Loctite 592 is the one I have used. It's good stuff.

Waiting on the head I threw these in to see if they might fit.
Close.

Those look like some skookum as frig big headers. Did you just build them or did they come from another project?

They are from another project.
They would need quite a few modifications to work in my Colt.
