My Dad Has an NOS Set. Never been on an engine.

I don't own them... I just know where they are.

I am sure they will sit in the same drawer for the next few years.

Related topic.
I have been looking for a 3083S AFB for decades.
Some years more than others.
I have never seen one or laid my hands on one.
This is the carb listed in the Hyper Pak parts listing.
However Marvin Panch didn't run this carb, he ran a 2 series carb.
Well I had a member on FABO contact me and sell me a 3803S!
He had found one on Craigslist and picked it up because he saw my wanted post.

So now after 50 years I have the correct carb for my intake.
One more part of the kit.
With any luck I will be able to put the "Kit" together.

I guess those carbs are fairly scarce or all of the other big block fans threw them away 'cause they are too small

What are the specs on it... primary / secondary sizes.. cfm etc?

Greg
In various articles the HP carb is listed as a :
2498A, This is a Typo, I can not find any application for this number,
2948S (60 Dodge 383), dual 4 barrels,
and 2951S which is a 1958 Cadillac carb (Duh, I don't think so.).

However from Chrysler the HP carb PN 2129881 is the 3803S
Marvin on the Daytona winning Valiant used a 2948S, and the base of that carb is the same as a 3803S.
The is some chatter that says the 2948S was used on the dyno testing and so using it at Daytona makes sense.
After the races and when the part numbers were assigned maybe they came up with a specific carb and Carter number.

It flows between 400 and 450 CFM, Carter didn't really rate their carbs so this is the range.
It has Primary numbers 2-223, 1.43 inch and Secondary numbers 2-197, 1.56 inch.
It uses a 6-1446 air horn which has a manual choke.
Small air breather opening.
The air horn is the same as the Stage 1 Max Wedges.
Notice fuel inlet location.

One reason I wanted the 3083S is because the NHRA has that number as the "Stock" carb.
You can't run stock eliminator without this carb.

Is the Hyper Pak even in the guide anymore?

They still have the info in the guides. I was told if you build a certain car, they will tech it and allow it to run. It's kind of a moot point now that I sold my wagon.

Congrats Stan!

I think that is probably as rare as the exhaust manifolds if not more so! Neat front fuel inlet.

Thank you Rick.
Still looking for the manifolds.
Right now I know where 4 sets are, just not for sale.
