Confirm: works for V8s, too; that changeover started on some V8 engines for '67.

Yes, they work on the LA engine, also

Will this work to adapt a 1968-76 forged crank 225 to an early 727 automatic as well? I'm about to swap the 225 in my 1965 A100 (with the adapter between the 225 & 727) to a 68-76 BH block. If this will work I'd like to pick one of these up from you if you still have any available, please.

Thanks!

Ryan

I am not sure on that. I am very unfamiliar on the 727 Converter Hubs / Sizes..It could be a non issue..

Will Have to do some research - I don't want to sell you a ring that is not going to be useful for you.

I will check it out.

Greg

Greg asked me to respond.
I don't remember if the factory crank adapter/spacer has a pilot that fits into the crank, or if it fits over the crank flange. If it fits into the crank then the bushing will work. If it fits over the crank flange, you will need to have it machined to the later crank flange diameter, and Gregs adapter is not needed.

Thanks, Greg and Charrlie,

I think I found all my answers here:
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=66205&hilit=1965+225+to+727+adapter

What is outlined on that thread is my exact situation: I've got a 1965 A100 Van with a pre-`68 225 mated to an early A727 with the adapter plate and crank spacer. I'm looking to swap in a `68-76 BH block and keep my early A727. I'm just going to have to machine the crank spacer for the larger diameter flywheel centering ring on the later forged crank. Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding any of this... there's a high probability rate for that. I'm a MoPar Noob.

Thank you, all, for the assistance! I'm sorry for the trouble.
This forum is outstanding. I really appreciate the knowledge and info here.

With gratitude,
Ryan

This is the correct info
You have a "stock" 65 van with a bad 225 SL6 engine and the original 727 transmission, that uses the adapter plate.
You also have a "good" 76 SL6 engine that you want to install into the van.

So you need to pull out the 65 engine along with the adapter plate, crank extension and flex plate.
Swap all the vans engine mounts, accessories and special parts onto the 76 engine, including the oil pan, the pan's oil pick-up tube and the special adapter plate / crank extension / flex plate that came out of the 65 van...
But...

The 65's crank extension /spacer will not fit onto the 76 crank's pilot hub because the shoulder is larger.
You will have to get the correct crank extension / spacer (68 and later) or have a machine shop open-up the counter bore in the spacer you have so it fits onto the 76 crank.

Once all the needed 65 parts are swapped onto the 76 engine, install the replacement engine into the van and fire it up.
