Just a question...I have a 68 valiant 100 that never had carpet, just the rubber/vynl floor. What would have come stock on such a car? I have choices like cut pile, loop, 80/20, etc. I have a 72 dart swinger, and it has the cut pile, and I like it. But the Valiant, I don't know.....Any opinions?

Generally pre-75 cars had loop.

If you're not going for a restoration, put what ever you like in it.

I put cut pile in my 64 because the color I needed only came in cut pile....

I'm a big fan of the rubber/vinyl floor. Super stripped-down style! Just a word of warning: if you try to replace the rubber/vinyl floor covering type, the ACC (Auto Custom Carpets) carpets do not have the correct molded-in heel pad for this kind...there's no molded-in heel pad at all on the ones ACC sells.

Cut pile marine carpet is what auto carpet layers with tight pocket books use sometimes.

Mine was black rubber. I put in some carpet I got from Lowes. It's outdoor carpet, but not the kind that looks kind of like very cheap plastic grass. It's a very short, ribbed loop pile. I liked the color (deep, variagated blue) and was happy to have the outdoor aspect of it. They had the junky outdoor carpet in a sort of Royal Blue, but I thought both the color and the plastic grass look were junky.

Persian carpets come as small as 2'x3' if one were looking for the creme de la creme of carpet/interiors.
