That's what I have, a "home-made" adjusting pushrod. I have a couple of lock nuts on the one I have. I get everything set-up and use the "test pushrod" to find a good length. I lock it down and send it off to Smith Brothers and tell them to make 12-14 to the "sample length". ( I usually get a couple of extras - so make 14)
A few days later I have a new set of "prefect length" pushrods and they return my test unit in the box.
