Hey there

I got myself a nice 833. I'm about to do the final installation and the flywheel has a 1.956" hole and the crank has 2.014" on the outter side of the hub. I'll be taking that diffrence out in a lathe, but in the meantime, I assumed that we only got early style cranks here in argentina. Coming my motor from an auto trans car, could it be possible that this little rascals have updated the crank hub only for auto trans cars? all other manual cars still have the smaller crank spindle?

And I should use difrent pilot bearing is that right? could anyone give me the inner size of that "later" crank register hole? maybe 1.815"? it's acceptable to rework my flywheel on a lathe and take that .25" off the center (keeping a true center) ? thanks

If you have the "large hub" crank you may want to use the later roller bearing type pilot bushing (bearing). That pilot bearing fits in the larger (1.815) counter bore of the later crank's hub.

thanks doc, that's what I was hoping to hear.... improved something using this later crank. Since you're such an expert, and I mean it, do you know where I can get a 10"on 9,25" bolt pattern clutch assy for this application? and I'll be PM'ing you soon because I did read your block selection and prep article and I have some things to clear up (possibly language issues or brainfarts on my side)

thanks to you all, more inputs encouraged, appreciated and needed :)

There are a couple of different 10" pressure plates that fit the SL6 122 tooth flywheel.

thanks doc, sent dozens of e-mails to those sites and to www.specclutch.com and even placed one or two phone calls and they didn't care for answering.

DD raises a good issue: Flywheel tooth count. Juan, did they use a US-type Chrysler gear-reduction starter on your Coronado, or is it a local starter of some type? You may need to add a starter to your shopping list if you use a different flywheel.

pentastar and "made in USA" plus 122 tooth would indicate that...

now seriously, all those GT units (ONLY '69) had all-american parts. In fact, I have to have the flywheel machined because all the flywheels that we used down here (american and domestic) were small crank register sized. Only auto trans cars got the later crank. Starters are all the same, us, domestic, nippondensos from jap cars, they all fit.

pressure plate is a 9,25" and so is clutch disc
