I'm going to install my J. C. Whitney carpet in my Valiant this weekend. I've got everything off except the front seat, front kick plates, and gas pedal which I'll do tonight. I plan on cleaning up very good under there. I can see that the rear floor pans are in good shape. After cleaning I'm going to brush on some Rustoleum premier paint and after a day of drying re-assemble everything.

Anything I should know from those that have done this? Thanks.

BTW, I put a new carbon brush in my power top motor, got it working, filled up the reservoir with break fluid and low and behold, my power top now works. I love this stuff.

It's done. The paint was oil based and it was extremely humid this weekend. Took 36 hours to dry. Found 3 pencil sized holes in the passenger floor. I riveted in a piece of metal over them. I'm pretty sure the old carpet was original.

It looks good.

time to sit back and smoke a cigarette.

i finished my interior a little over 2 months ago.

then on saturday, i had a guy drive on the wrong side of the street and jack up my bumper and fender.

time to rebuild..
