A while back when I was building my "Screamin' Six" engine, I used Sterling 244NP pistons in a 30 overbore. They have a 1.74 compression height also. I had the block cut 60 under blueprint specs for compression. Pistons ended up at .105" down at TDC. The mains were line honed, so that might account for a few thousandths.
With a stock Fel-Pro 0.039" head gasket and 55.72 (average) cc combustion chambers, I've got a 9.04 compression, and 190-195 psi cranking pressure. My pistons are flat tops like yours.
