I am restoring the trunk area in my 74 dart, i had to remove some dried up seam sealer in a few areas, i am looking to recreate the factory look of the seam sealer, does anyone know the proper sealer to use and how to apply it to look factory?

I don't have the link, but I'm pretty sure that Eastwood has something that would work. Just google it, and you should find the site. I don't know the proper way to apply...but it doesn't look like they spent much time on it!

that stuff that eastwood sells looks more like paint, the stuff that dodge used seemed to be thicker, more rubbery.

Eastwood have the rubbery stuff, too, as do your local auto body and paint supply store (where the body men go to get their paint and supplies).

3m and ppg both make several and there are other brands as well. As Dan pointed out go to a auto body paint supply shop. Some come in cans, some in tubes for a chalking gun. The ones I have used are black, tan or white. Just make sure it is a paintable sealer if you ar going to paint over it. Eastwood has some great stuff but some of what they sell are normal body shop supplies and might cost quite a bit less if you source them that way. Quicker too if you can just go pick it up.

Thanks for the tips. I have never used seam sealer before. I dont think this stuff comes out in a caulking gun, it is spread out about 2-3 inches wide, and it is pretty thick, it almost looks like it was sprayed on. I will check with my local body supply

I use the 3m fast seal part #08505 works good but you need a calk gun to use it
