I am starting with the Lokar cable setup and I noticed that my kick down trans arm dosen't move all the wat forward on its own. This is with nothing hooked to it. I can push it all the way back and then let it come forward and it stops pushing forward about half way. The other half way forward I have to pull it.
Does this lever need to move all the way through it travel to work correctly? I know it needs to move all the way back at WOT but does it also need to move all the way forward at closes throttle?

Yup, it does need to return freely on its own. If it does not, check for binding and/or too-tight bends in the cable. You may have to add a helper spring.

I have no cables hooked to it at this point. Just a simple lever coming off the trans. This lever should basicly move its self all the way forward right? If I push it by hand it moves very easily about 1/3 the way back and then builds resistants the last 2/3rds. Is it possiable that the first 1/3 of movement would have no effect? If it does your sugesting installing a return spring down by the transmition? If a spring where to be installed up by the carb, the cable at the trans would fold like a wet nootle for the last 1/3 of its travel back to the full frontward position.
I am being wordy to be clear.
Thanks for your help.

That travel sounds normal to me.

Yep, I'm with Slantzilla. If nothing's attached to the lever, that sounds pretty normal. I thought you were saying that with the cable attached, you weren't getting full return.
