'Deep Sherwood Metallic' (There's a Feather Duster across town with this one, it's a nice 'dark Hunter green' look).

That's an alternator code, it's for one that's under 80 amps...but not the little 46 amp wonder...

Sounds like a good car...

Yep, right you are. Something nagged at me as I typed that, but my brain was on the surgery I just got back from having.

Oh, either that or I should get my next decoder ring out of a box of cereal that's not past its "eat by" date.

That's a good one. There are many lists of fender tag codes out there, and each one seems to contain different omissions and errors, so I like to cross-check codes I'm not completely sure on, to see if I can at least come up with a consensus.

Paint codes aren't provided on any of the fender tag code lists, so (when I remember, thanks DI) I grab the paint code off the fender tag, head over to www.autocolorlibrary.com , look at the paint chip chart for the year and make in question, find the fender tag paint code and retrieve the paint supplier's colour code from the relevant chip.

F16 is for a 34 amp alternator

KG8 - The "K" is for the year that shade was introduced, in this case the 1974 model year. It is a slightly different shade from 1973's JG8 (Dark Green Metallic). KG8 was also used in 1975-76
