Hi all,

I have a demon with a slant six, great car. I was just wondering how I go about finding how many were made and if possible how many are left??

Thanks

Jeff

It's an understandable question, and you'll always hear/read people talking about how their car is one of 642 made with the glovebox light, butterscotch paint, 383 engine and locking gas cap (or whatever). There are also lots of ads for companies purporting to be able to tell you exactly how many of whatever car are left. Neither claim has much meat to it. There's documentation available for some breakdown on production by year-model-engine-trans-major options, but usually not down to the level of how many were built and equipped exactly like yours, and there's no way of knowing anywhere close to "exactly" how many of any car are left. A good rule of thumb is that the survival rate is roughly 10%.

You may want to post a good, clear, sharp picture of your car's fender tag, so that a decode can be provided and at that point you'll know exactly how your car was specced out at the factory (and at which factory, and built on what day, etc.)

I have a 71 Demon /6 that was a 3 speed floor shift car. It will soon have a 4-speed. I can tell you that I have seen a couple Demons still around that have not been converted to a small block. All the /6 ones I have seen have been collum shift automatics. Post some pics. :D

Thanks for the info, I will get a pic of my tag and also post some pics of the in progress Demon. As many of us do, I wish I still had my 72 Demon 340 that I had in high school. But I am thankful I was able to get my hands on another Demon. :)

Another demon owner :D Mine is a 3 speed on the tree, b2 blue, rubber floor mat, manual steering, manual brakes, no options of any kind car. About any demon is a rare find because of the 71/72 only production.
pics please!
