hey guys, we put a 73 225 and auto from the same into our 64 a100, after it was in realized that it came with a 170 not a 225, the alternator goes on the drivers side about where powersteering bolts up on later 225s, the later position wouldnt fit in the doghouse and the 170 alt. bracket doesnt bolt up to the 225 in a way that would make it line up for a belt, so we made one out of scrap and got a friend to weld it for us, then a support comes off the water pump to allow it to be adjusted, think it will work, also shortened the driveshaft from our 73 dart parts dart, i dont know if any of you have ever cut up a driveshaft, im sure someone has, but the spline end that goes into the trans. has not quite a foot of metal that goes inside the outer part of the drifeshaft, we cut off that outer shell, cut the other end that bolts to the rearend to where we needed it, thought it was the same diameter as the other end but it was a little bigger, so we wrapped duct tape around the inside tube to make it thicker so it was pretty close to straight, the welded it up, it will probably vibrate a bit, but this truck wont be going very fast, especially for a while, if its too bad we can get it balanced, so its almost movable! driveshaft needs bolted up to the rearend still, and gotta put in the alternator, hook up the radiator lines, put in a tranny cooler, put in all appropriate fluids, and we will be moving!

yesterday went to the parts yard and scored: msd blaster 2 coil with chrome bracket(already have an accel super stock for this and my dart, but an extra is never bad) a backup hei module, some heater hose/clamps, a set of the fittings to adapt an r12 system to r134a, some crimp connectors, and a nice transmission cooler with lines/clamps all for 15 bucks, today dads busy, but i got in the cooler, new ignition lock cylinder, reconnected the accelerator cable, and seems like something else, tomorrow we should be able to put the radiator back in, fill up the appropriate fluids, and see what happens, it didnt want to stay running the other day, have to mess with the timing a little, also think it had something to do with the way we had the fuel just to get it going, need to do that tomorrow too, heres hoping the parking brake works!

the problem with starting wasnt the timing, it was the hei wires to the dist, just needed to switch those around, got the radiator in, and it runs and moves! need to readjust the timing now that its starting, and exhaust would be nice, seeing as the doghouse is still off and its in the cabin, lucky weve got earplugs...i think with the timing adjusted it will get up there better, it runs good though, got it up to maybe 30-40 something and ran out of yard  still very rough but it runs!
thanks for all the help guys, my sister took pics so maybe ill put them up later
