: What AC pump are you using?
The original-equipment V2.

: The 77 Slant 6 2v
: carb setup with AC had a air filter housing
: with a flatened front to clear the AC pump.
That is quite true. However, it still won't clear the A/C compressor in the '62...not by a long shot. The A/C compressor brackets were changed in '67 or so to move the compressor farther towards the driver's side of the car. This makes it easier to change the manifold gaskets and such, and allows the use of a larger air cleaner, but this bracketry won't fit/work in a '62 A-body.

Yeah, most of these are the junk C171 design. A few of them are the Sanden SD series, which is a much better compressor than the C171. I still prefer the V2, however. It is a very efficient compressor with low drag on the engine, even if it is bulkier and heavier than the later design. Note that all compressors are "rotary"...it's just that the earlier ones have pistons that go up and down, and the later ones have pistons that go forward and backwards!

: Oh yea, some of the Slant 6 Vans had some
: weird
: offset air filter housings.
Now there's an idea. I'll look for one of those.
Thanks.
