I have a 1964 Valiant with drum brakes all around. When i got it a few months ago i went over the brake system. I replaced all wheel cylinders, new spring kits, and brake shoes.
I also replaced the front drums with NAPA brand drums. Now when i hit the brakes when i'm over 50 mph the car vibrates pretty bad. Could one of the new drums be out of round and causing this.
I know that when the car is in the air the right front tires seems to grab a little every time the wheel goes around.

a drum could be out of round or a wheel could be bent or improperly attached to the hub. While not always done, it's really a good practice to turn new drums and rotors because they can get out of whack during handling and storage.

i blame the brakes if it happens only while on the brakes, is it feeding back into the pedel? or just makin the car shake?
even new drums can get out of round pretty easily, those 9" front drums r just bad... in my opinion

it does not feel like it feeds back into the pedal alot. But then again its hard to tell cause the whole car is shaking.

Besides an out of round drum, check to see if the shoes are adjusted to tight, the shoes or drums are glazed, or if there is any contamination on the shoes.

New front drums should have new wheel studs when installing, and have to be checked and turned for trueness if over .006 inches out of round or runout. Worn wheel bearings or hub defect can also cause this; a very very tiny irregularity at the wheel bearing diameter is magnified to a much larger amount at the 9" drum, and even larger effect at the outer circumference of the tire.
