Looks like ATP has 'obsoleted' the Y-156, it can be special ordered from them (backlog of 1-2 weeks), unless your local supplier has one in stock be prepared to wait.

THe Pioneer CA-8417 is still available, but may be a 'backorder' item also.

My local mopar dealers were no help (wanna buy a whole big block kit for $$$)...

Looks like anytime I go out to a junkyard, I'll start stealing all the pre-1975 V-8 A-body throttle cables so we have some to work with.

It took Shucks/Kragen's 1 week to get one in, and the CA-8417 is a direct match with the Super Six throttle cable, but it has the 1967-1974 'round' end that takes the washer...

I paid $40 for it, but the box says "Made in Israel", the metal parts were all cadmium plated, and it looks to be a good quality product...

Just swapped it in, time for a test drive...

So speaking of... I'm trying to collect the parts I need for Super Six conversion, and on the article it says that for me, option #1 is:
track down a 64-66 V-8 car with the cable style throttle linkage and get all the gas peddle assembly parts needed for a direct bolt in swap

So... can anybody perhaps let me know which cars more specifically I should be looking for? I've been so focused on my Dart, I know it's an A-body but I don't know the difference between A-bodies, B-bodies, F-bodies.. etc. And I don't know which cars will swap out right. Also, I'm guessing I'm looking for a 318 V-8 specifically, right? Cos those would have the 2bbls? Or does it matter?
And one last thing.. has anybody around Willamette Valley area Oregon seen any of these cars in a junkyard that isn't Wildcat? (Wildcat is awesome, but you pay for it.) I don't mind traveling a bit to dig parts out.

For the early A-body you're looking for a 1965-1966 Dart, Valiant, Barrcuda with the cable style pedal... These cars aren't found much if ever in local yards... I'm going with Ceej and Fopar up for a long range 'scrounge' mission and see if that guy might have that part for you at a reasonable price. as for the super six you'll need the 'stack'... next big challenge is getting kickdown linkage that will work for your car, unless it's a 'manual' tranny (3 on the tree?)

parts at reasonable prices are good.. if i can find them. if not, there are a few people at chemeketa who are creative with welders and grinders, if it comes down to it. i'd just need to figure out a way to show them what to make.
yeah the kickdown linkage is the other thing that's going to kill me, i have the auto tranny, not manual, so unless there's something i can rig, i guess i'll have to wait til something shows up on ebay. sigh.

The kickdown can pretty easily be set up with a cable. The most obvious is the Lokar cable but there are other options as well. The Dodge Dakota uses a kickdown cable that looks like it could be pretty easily adapted to our cars. The tranny end is a simple bolt on to the A904, while the carb end would need some fabrication. It looks fairly easy to me.

Old thread, I know, but I'm trying to Super Six my 63 Valiant as well.

I'm wondering if the Bouchillon performance cable and setup will work so that I don't actually have to change the gas pedal.

Or, is getting a pedal assembly from an old Mopar basically my only choice?

I've seen this before. Cool idea, but doesn't help that I already have the Super Six Manifold and linkage.

I guess it'll be some parts yard safari for me. :?

i just ordered mine from ebay the ATP y156no back order or anything. i am using the original kick down rod from my 1bbl but i have modified it by bending it in the right places to make it longer..
