Hi guys i am new here and i had a question i am in need of an exhaust manifold for a couple of my slants. I was reading over the posts about the powerpipe and dont think i want to go that way just because of the negative feedback it is receiving. Anyway while reading that post i noticed someone posted that you can get a brand new exhaust manifold for 105.00 does anyone know where to get that from. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Justin

thanks guys that is what i was looking for i know about dutras but that is a little out of the price range right now maybe later i just dont want my cars sounding like crap i have 2 good ones but i need a couple more seems like they are prone to cracking but for 125.00 shipped that is just what i need Thanks a lot guys i appreciate the help

Something to think about when you install the new manifold.

To help reduce cracking don't over tighten the manifold. If you have a problem with exhaust or vacuum leaks and tend to over torque try RemFlex.com graphite gaskets. They are extra thick and require less tightening and only need to be torqued once.

Part numbers is RF6008 and it does come with the stove box gasket.
The exhaust gasket I used was #RF6006 2.25" head pipe gasket.

They work very well, I think you like them!
Just don't drop them or bend them.

sounds good ill try them. I will follow the torque specs cause i dont want them to crack after i put a new one on but i havent cracked one yet i didnt realize that could be whats cracking them i bought both cars with the problem already it helped me get them cheaper but its not fun having to fix the problem. Watch Ebay, check the junkyards, as well as our "Parts for Sale" section, if you're on a budget chances of finding a good used one in one of these places is pretty good. Tip on Ebay... They won't all come up with the same search keyword. "slant six", "slant6", "super six". "mopar 225", "mopar 6", are different ways of saying the same thing but depending on how it was listed, some things will come up any way that you search, but many won't depending on how the seller worded the title of their item. Try places like big Block dart or moparts as among those places some of them don't see the worth of a good slant 6 and would rather yank 'em out, scrap 'em and go with a V8. I'm not going to get into the right/wrong of either way of thinking, but for those who would rather keep their slant 6, its just another good place to find parts!

The 1970-up manifolds were redesigned and strengthened in the weak area. These can be identified by a round heat riser counterweight instead of squared-off counterweight, and are common in junkyards. Keep the choke thermostat that goes with the manifold.

Since you have the manifolds split, try fitting the exhaust up first and make sure the mounting holes are large enough so it does not fit tightly over the studs. Mine did, so I reamed the holes out to where they had enough clearance to move when they heat up and cool down. This will help to reduce the potential for any future cracking. By using the big thick brass washers with a large thin stainless steel washer and nut, the manifold can easily expand and contract. Once the exhaust is in position it easy to install the intake. I just did a intake manifold swap over Christmas from cast iron to aluminum using the RemFlex gaskets. Everything aligned right on the money. If you want, I can send you a picture.
I used brass nuts on the studs and stainless bolts through the stove box. That way your less apt to break anything if you decide to later port the manifolds or switch intakes two a Super Six or a four barrel. Hope this helps!
