I have been given a Denso alternator off a 2001 Dodge Ram P/U. 1 catch, the bearings are bad. It turns really hard. 2 questions:

1) Can this thing be wired into my 65 Cuda? If so, how?

2) Where can I find the bearings? It is the 117A version. I found bearings for the Diesel alternator, are they the same? Here they are:

thanks for any help.

All parts are available to rebuild this alternator. Any good local auto electrical house can supply 'em. These alternators wire up exactly like a '70+ Chrysler-built alternator: Two field terminals, doesn't matter which one gets your '65's one field wire and which one gets grounded. One output terminal. Some bracket adaptation will be required (shave about 1/8" off the bottom bracket). You will definitely want to rework the current path between the alternator and battery. The elegant way to do this is with an active shunt .
