If you ever make it up this way, there's always room for you at our house.:D I kinda think the Mopar show at Joliet may have run it's course. I'm in the car club they had organize the show this year and the track hosed us. However, there is a new track manager in place now and I've heard they are trying to get the St. Louis promoter to handle the show again. Unless things change drastically, I am only planning on running the new show Mark is helping with at Mo-Kan and Clay City.:) You better hope that dog of yours is faster than my wore-out old street car.

This is real me and Bagel put up some serious grudge racing money and it ain't over. Last year it ended in a tie so were not going to stop there. That mean ole Bagel bomber has be picking on for years and its going to stop. Next year were going to have a real race car with a real race engine . Because its not over until i win Thanks Ron Parker

He told me today he is running alchol and eather nitros are blower with a new roller cam motor how bout them apples. This will be in a 1800 lb car. Next year the price of racing is going up so who is going to be the fastest. My buddy went 7.10 today on a track that is a tenth slower than eneywhere we race except Bristol. So you keep talking and we will stert chalking. :D

Stock pistons will hold up well, IF you keep it out of detonation.
That way you said "IF" makes me think there's a narrow window for setting the timing on an EFI'd 225

It'll have electronic ignition by the time I convert too...
Looks like your question got dropped in all the smack talking - I'll see if I can pick it up, brush it off, and get you an answer.

Simply adding EFI to a slant six isn't likely to cause detonation unless you lean it out, but if you start by setting it rich and see how far you can back it off you should be safe. It's when you add a turbo that things get a bit harder. Too much boost for your octane rating and compression can cause detonation, as can leaning it out (even worse than on a non turbo motor). The timing window isn't particularly narrow, and backing it off too much won't make it ping. But it is easy to get greedy with a turbo and try to wring more power out of it than your system can handle.
