How interchangeable are the Fender top turn signals between Valiants and Darts in the 67-69 years? I ask because i am putting a 67 Dart front clip on my brother's 74 Duster and one fender has the factory holes drilled for GT fender trim and the fender mounted turn signal but the other fender has no holes. Do I need to find Dart only turn signals or will ones from a Valiant work?

The '66-'69 optional fendertop signals are fancier (and more costly) than the '70+ items. You can get a good idea of what the different styles look like by going to www.pgclassic.com and navigating thru their not-very-well-designed website to see the various styles available as new reproductions. I don't know whether the hole pattern for the later signals is the same as for the early ones; the later units show up as good used items fairly regularly on eBay.

Thanks. I have a set of the 70-up signals already, but I am eyeing a pair of 68 Valiant signals on eBay right now. I guess it really is too late to worry about originality or cutting holes in this Duster (74 Duster shell, 67 Dart front clip, 70-72 Demon tailpanel, all panels have dents in them and Bondo).

I have a set of the '67's on the Beater Valiant Signet...and a set of the 1970+ on the Hpak Duster... the 70+ used to be easier to find on junkyard mopars, the '67-'69 are expensive and generally wanted because they were a '67 GTX item... (yes, I've had someone ask if they could buy my fender signals...)

The Dart chrome trim which runs the full length of the body terminates with an integral directional signal indicator light that is fastened in place with a screw making up the leading several inches of that trim. I’m not sure how you intend to adapt the chrome trim past the doors to the Duster’s curvaceous stern. The later “signal onlyâ€￾ stile fender indicator light that mounts on the flat of the fender between the outer crease & engine compartment maybe a cleaner look, and if you need that linear look running the length of the fender/body crease that the ‘67-‘69 cars had, a pin stripe could be added.

The valiant ones are a 2 screwhole and a wire hole in the fender and sit on the "upslope" on the fender...so he won't have to worry about the dart trim needed for that style of lights. One thing to note...the 1967-1969 Valiant versions are a pain in the tuckus to change the lights out of...the 70+ is really easy with a phillips screwdriver.

Side note Reed; the indicator lights on my Dart are imposable to see blinking during the day light portion of the day. At night they look cool.

If I remember correctly, the larger light that mounts on the fender flat used on later larger cars can be seen in bright sunlight.
