Just curious; with the recent failure of a new looking starter relay.....does the ballast resistor effect the relay in any way?

I checked with the meter and I'm getting 6v nominal across the coil in the "run" position, so I assume the ballast is working.

I'm just trying to figure out why a relatively new relay would fail.

Could be just because it's an electical part.

Look at the relay carefully. Does it or the packaging say "Made In China" anywhere?
