Hey guys,

I live in Australia and am looking at finally purchasing into the Slant 6 market! I am able to find many cars in the era I am looking at (63-64 AP5) but almost every one that comes up for sale (I'm looking at buying a rebuilder, not a registered, running car) is an AUTOMATIC! Damn lazy Valiant buyers.

Even though this question doesn't relate directly to the Slant 6 motor as such, I'm sure you guys will be able to help me. How much is involved in changing a car over to a 3-speed column manual from a push-button automatic? The cars are cheap enough to warrant me buying additional parts to complete the conversion, but I was wondering is it worth buying an auto model and then getting additional parts (steering column and gears linkages, pedals) to change it to a manual??

Before you ask, yes I do want a column and I don't want a floor-shift.

Thanks in advance!!
James
