No scales nearby.

How do I weigh my race car?

Id like to use a torque wrench to weigh all 4 corners.

Any ideas?

I have heard of using bathroom scales with fulcrums to decrease the load on the scale by a known amount. You would have to use a known weight to calibrate it well. I would think a torque wrench might not be as accurate.

Bring it down to my garage and we can corner weight it...

so.......if the anticipated weight per corner was 700lbs......

I use an eightfoot 4x4 with the fulcrum at 1 ft from the end resting on the bathroom scale. I push 100lbs to lift the corner.......

Are you allowed open pipes and cut tires on your street?

so I took my Big Bar......1" drill rod 50" long.

......tossed a block under the car and started prying.

Once I had the car lifted with the bar I measured from axle centre to fulcrum (6") and from fulcrum to the end where my knee was exerting all my 160lbs (42")

so if 6" = 1 then 42= 7 ....so 7x 160lbs = 1120lbs on the front

The same procedure got me about 1250lbs on the rear

That means about 2370 for the whole car. A lil less than I had figgerd....

I used the bathroom scale to weigh myself ..........Im so dirty I weigh 5 lbs more than I do after my bath!

Sounds like a good first pass. Interested to see what happens if you do it on a different day with fresh setup.

Open pipes, yes, but limited. Cut tires should be fine, but I'll have to ask the neighbors...

Goin' back to Hagerstown this weekend - will miss ya there!

The closest dump that weighs stuff is 2.5 hours and a ferry ride away.

There are log dumps that weigh full logging trucks 45 mins and a ferry ride away.....but they weigh 40,000 to 100,000lbs.

Weighing all the parts doesn t help with front/rear distribution......
