when putting in the rear main seal the slant six forum article says
to put the sloped edge outward but the seal package felpro 40240
says put the sloped edge to the inside what is the right way
please help my engine has a rope seal so i have nothing for reference

The square "shoulder" faces the bearing.
If it looks like this you are OK.
