I bought these say 500 miles ago. Drive very hard @ times..I just asked the local auto store for slant six plugs autolite 66

stock 1968 slant six engine ...they look lean

Jon, that washer has to be removed, and yes, that plug looks like you are running on the lean side.

What carburetor and jet are you running?

It looks as if you have a peanut head.

Which cylinder did that plug come out of?

Modern gasoline doesn't tend to color plugs as in decades past so I'm not worried about the plug being white. The side electrode doesn't appear heat damaged, but it shouldn't be at this power level. The spots on the side electrode. Are they hard or powdery?

that plug came from 4th cylinder back from the front of the engine. i removed the washer with dykes. it was a tad bit of a chore..this is the 2nd plug back from the front of then engine. i took two pics of it..Josh the spots r hard.

Try a set of NGK ZFR5N (stock number 3459) instead of that Chinese-made Autolite junk. I don't see too much to be concerned about in these pics you're showing us. Looks as if these plugs were running with the washers, which will tend to make them run hotter.
