The guys at NAPA are not exactly helpful when it comes to dealing with little engine parts like a coolant drainplug. I'm wondering if anyone knows the specs on one, and where I can get one.

Mine is rounded, so I have to take it into the shop, have them heat it and then take it off. I'd like to be able to give them something to replace it with, though.

Anybody?

I think that that plug can be found in the plumbing aisle at the hardware store.

Use vice grips, or a small Stilson wrench to remove your rounded plug, than match it up at the hardware store.

Get the type that you can open like a radiator drain plug. Will make draining block much easier and the size will fit.

Wow. This one's a killer. No go with the vise grips. I think my shop will have to apply freaky industrial heat to this one.

Looks like for future reference, it's a 3/8 NPT coolant drain plug.

Hopefully this helps future plug problem havers!
