im getting a little ahead of my self, and looking for mounts, i see about the poly mounts which are $120, which to me, is pretty much ridiculous for mounts, i have bought many poly mounts for difference cars and parts, none are that expensive, not even half the amount. also i don't even see a trans mount for a early a body either.

my question is, is there any other alternatives of a good decent mount, and what do i do about the transmission mount.

Can't answer question without knowing make, model, and year.

Dan will argue with me on this, but I have had them on my race car for years.
Use 1965 Dodge Dart as the vehicle, as there are some errors in their applications for the early "A" bodies.

I bought the motor mounts from Polybushings.com and the Trans. Mount from Jegs. The motor mounts are a quality product and well worth the price.(I will never have to replace them.) and yes, they were recommended by Dan!

Can't imagine why you'd want to do this not-very-fun R&R job more than once. Get the good ones from Polybushings and never think about your mounts again, vs. the compressed cow poo garbage from India or China which is your only other alternative. Keep in mind, motor mounts are very much a safety item. You will have to choose whether you'd like to rely on luck (which does not actually exist) or on engineering and physics.

I just can't wrap my head around such an expensive price that probably cost 20 bucks to make, for vw I have lots of choices, but do prefer the Mexico oe replacements.

Can't wrap your head around it? Try harder. Skilled custom engineering and small-volume parts made to a high standard cost money. Think you can make 'em for $20? Go do it! Sell 'em for $40/ea, double your money; you'll have people stuffing money in your mailbox all day long.

What you pay for = what you get.

I'm not even gonna start, it seems like other companies can make good quality poly mounts for plenty of other cars with in very reasonable price, but seem to forget about the slants. All this is, is supply and demand. One company makes poly for the slant, and they know that. So they can charge what ever they want. Which is totally fine, nothing wrong with making money Hell I gaurantee the could bump it up to 150-200 and people would still pay.

But your right, with a beard like that, how can I argue vs so much wisdom....

My take on the subject is: POLYBUSHING.com is a small business in the US, and I would much rather pay 3 or 4 times as much for a quality product and support real people(Johnny) that take pride in their work.
I would have bought the trans. mount from him too, but there hasn't been enough demand for him to make them.

+1. I usually try to be as cheap as possible, but these days the cheap auto parts are really just garbage. I have had too many early part failures, parts not fit, and parts not work out of the box to continue to buy the low-price option. I will happily pay higher cost for quality parts because (a) they will work (b) I will actually save money in the long run because I won't have to buy three cheap parts instead of one expensive part, and (c) I really think we need to support American and independent businesses as much as possible.

The machine shop I use has a sign on the wall:

Fast, cheap, well done.
Pick two.

The longer I live, the truer I find this sign to be.

I completely agree, that supporting usa made stuff, and buying quality parts, maybe I didn't notice the company is so small, but other companies who build poly mounts can build a quality product at much cheaper price but there is more company more demand and more volume. But they don't do /6. I'm use to vws which are not cheap as they use to be, infact very expensive, but its a HUGE community. Don't seem much for us slanters.

Sorry I'm didn't want an arguement, but 120 is steep for 2 little angle iron pieces and some rubber. But if its my only choice compaired to partsmaster products. I'm going for the poly.
