Tom Drake won at Paradise Ron Parker was Runnerup I will have to say it was not the bamboozler that beat me it was the driver. Ron Hamby is our National champion. Ron Hamby has the best combo and he proved it again this year. As for you Mr Tom Drake I will run you again , because it ain't over until I win!
Thanks Possum Parker

Tom Drake won the race but he did not win the war .

That is one tough possum. Put up a good fight right up until the end.

Thanks to Dale for putting on a good race! It was a lot of fun. Sorry we did not get to stay for the cook-out but Adel was wearing thin. Hope everyone had a good time.

I think just about everyone there got a little $$ with all of the prizes Dale awarded. Seymour showed up with his race car and turn a 7.88 that I saw. Not bad! Couple of new faces and a lot of regulars. Came close to being a 50 point race but Rob S and Gary B had some bad luck before the start and I believe we had 15 cars for the first round.

Congrats to Ron Hamby on winning the points this year!

I have sent Doug pictures and as soon as he gets a chance I am sure he will post them.

See everyone at Gatlinburg this winter!

Tom Drake

Bagel i did not let you down i got beat by a great driver with a great racing package. This group of racers put it all on the line . Every body we race wants to win just as i do when you get beat you go for it the next time. Everybody we race with can win at anytime at any race i have seen that. That is what makes our slant six program special. But im going to get me about three of them bamboozlers for next year so i can beat them Drake boys. Ps Bagel what do you know about bamboozlers. :D :D

talk to me bagel about bamboozlers Possum Parker

Hey Tom,
I was willing to sacrifice the old, tired motor in the Duster to make it a 50 point race. At first it was me and Seymour that were broke with my rod knock and Seymour with overheating. When I saw that he was still in it I went to Kay and said I'd run so we could give Ron some competition for the Championship. Then Gary apparently twisted a U joint or something.
Too bad, it's always fun to have that "up to the last race" competition. I know those that were in the hunt were disappointed.
I'm sorry I couldn't get any of the NGMC members out for this one. David Elder is in the process of moving and his dad Bill isn't really into racing other than with David. I made several phone calls, but wasn't able to make the monthly meeting to talk it up. If the Army hasn't moved me by then, I'll do a better job next year. I will also be working on the Reynolds race for next year.
The GodsRods kids were really disappointed they couldn't race this time. I've got a very enthusiastic group of young gearheads that would make a great addition to the Slant 6 family. I'm doing my best to help secure the future of Slant 6 racing by showing these kids what can be done cheaply and easily with these cars. Maybe I went a little too cheap with the Duster. I'll try to save some pennies for a better motor and have something ready for next season.

Rob,
I am glad you got to bring the kids along. I thought it was classic you carring that broken rod over there to them to show them what was going wrong with the motor when they wanted to keep running it.

You( and them) will be back I am sure of it. If you need any parts for the rebuild let me know and I will dig through and see if I can help you out.

Hey bagel them Drakes has a engine bamboozler that controls the timing and fuel, a transmission bamboozler that controls the trans, and a driver bamboozler that helps the driver and a turbo bamboozler. Come to think of it im not smart enough to use them bamboozlers. Hell Bagel im a footbrake man i'll have my car set on kill next year and get them break out blues behind us this winter. Because it ain't over until i win. PS bagel how are you doing hope you are better your Dixie Dandy Possum Parker. :D :D

Here are the photos Tom sent me the other day.
It was all I could do at the moment to get them up-loaded into a directory.
When I get some more time I hope to put them into a gallery format but for now you can at least get a look at "Paradise"....
