for those with wide band gauges, any preference between
analog like the innovate 3822 and digital like the autometer 5779.

I like the look of the innovate 3822, but don't know it it will have enough resolution to be useful,, on the other hand,, on the digital units, does the last digit remain steady or does it roll?

basic question is what is most useful?

I have the AEM gauge with both LED sweep and numerical readout on both Darts. Love it.

Yes, that's it. I believe you are asking if it gives sensible readings to the tenths place (.x digit), and the answer is yes.

For what it is worth, the AEM gauge, which I also bought upon Lou's advice, has both analogue and digital output wires. You can go either way with it.

It has been absolutely reliable. Don't make the mistake I made of placing it too far back from the manifold. Until I moved it to a spot 18" from the turbo outlet, it would give me error messages, and not read reliably.

concerning the readability issue

I spoke with AEM tech support,, they said the Bosch sensor is a heated unit,,
within reason, distance from the ex port should not matter,, funky readings probably indicate air in leakage...

AEM recommended gasketed flange connectors ahead of the sensor.

I have some long down tubes,, makes my install more interesting...

OH YEAH, air leaks into the exhaust really foul up AF readings. Needs to be tightly sealed upstream of AF and I would guess for a foot or so downstream.
