Man I hate this frigging truck sometimes.

It ran perfectly fine yesterday, no issues at all. Then this morning, -10 degrees celsius (same exact temperature it ran at last night without thinking twice), it won't stay running!
It will only start if you're giving it fuel, runs like absolute garbage once it starts and you're giving it fuel--choppy, shaky, terrible and dies if you let off the fuel.
I thought it was the choke as I am normally used to working with a manual choke, so maybe my thermostatic choke was messed up. It seems to be closing okay, so I don't really understand. Especially because everything was fine and dandy 12 hours ago.

Any ideas?

Definitely sounds like a choke issue. Might also be condensation in the fuel system freezing up or carburetor icing.

What carburetor are you running? Have you adjusted the choke as described in the article on how to set your choke as well as the instructions in the carburetor manual? See HERE.

My car did that a few weeks ago, I found the choke was set fine for warmer conditions but not for colder. I had to extend the rod so the choke closed more, per the gap listed in the manual which was 1/6th of an inch. You wouldn't think it would matter that much but it does! After the readjustment it starts and runs fine..no misfires or pops...

I'm running a Carter BBD. I definitely have a gap that is bigger than 1/16th of an inch, no doubt about that. So maybe that's the problem then.
I'll have to extend the rod a little then I guess. After reading the adjustment article as well it sounds like the pull off vacuum pod might be a bit off too.

EDIT: On that topic, does anyone actually have a choke link? The one I have is a real hackjob. Two pieces of metal just brazed or soldered together or something. I guess it got the job done for the setup it was on previously but it isn't long enough for mine.
