Welcome to the .org w a step side. Not normal to see step sides where I'm at let alone d150s. You certainly have a lot going on under the hood compared to mine and I'm still looking for things to get rid of. Is that a diaper in the passenger fender well?n  I see an alum rad too. Looks to be converted to Chrysler EI. And the PCV valve doesn't have a hose on it but idk if it really matters a ton. Keep on wrenching, lots to read here too. If you think it, search as someone here prolly has done it or tried. Take a stroll through slixers gallery for more d150 ideas and builds. Good luck.

I thought the same thing--I'd be eliminating things left, right and center in there. I never realized how cluttered AC can make things look! Would be a nice convenience though, that's for sure.
That stepside is killer. I would LOVE to find a stepside box for my '80 one day.

Thanks for the comments...I like the step side styling too. The alum radiator came with the truck and looks to be designed for the 318 because the radiator mounts are on different sides.

Ssg Pohlman that is a t-shirt that i cut and wrapped around the lean burn plugs after the conversion. The PCV does have a hose and is connected to the carburetor for now...In time i will clean up the look and the wiring and remove stuff that isn't necessary.

The truck is a true Arizona truck so it doesn't have much rust at all and here in Arizona you can get collector car insurance for a vehicle over 25 years old as long as it's not a primary use vehicle and be exempt from emissions (wish i would have known that before i bought the smog pump and did several other things to try and get it ready for emissions) and you can register it for up to 5 years...

I was told that the step side beds are not that common dodge calls them the Utililine. I found this website where i was able to download the parts diagrams for this truck they go back to 1984'

No the step side isn't common at all so it's nice to see one up and running again. Glad it's t shirt and not a diaper lol. The plugs and wires etc from lean burn can just be cut out and then reloom what's left. I done the same to mine as well, it's in the slixers gallery under "oldy bit goody" there's even a pic of the computer and wires laying on the ground. There's plenty of resources here to get that thing running tip top. Search, read, enjoy!

Ssg Pohlman,

I looked at the "oldy bit goody" post and see that you have an 84' d150 too...Looks like yours has the same specs as mine.

What model distributor did you buy? I will have to identify mine and make sure that it's the right one for the solid state ignition...it looks to be a newer distributor it was already on the truck i assumed it wasn't the lean burn distributor because it was only single pickup and had a vacuum pot i can see the numbers on the vacuum pot from underneath and will write them down next time i get under there.

Does yours run really nice? Did you use html code to embed the pictures from imageshack in the post? I went ahead and signed up with imageshack after seeing several people here using them...but i would like for the pics to be displayed in the post instead of a link

Thanks

The dizzy I believe was for a 77 valare? it may be in my writeup somewhere. I bought it thinking to match the year and model for the intake I had and not the truck. There are more people here that can recommend the correct one for you as im not big on all the dizzy things. there is an FAQ talking of the dizzy cans and what they mean. maybe in electrical. It should be fine to operate since it has a vacuum pot on it. The lean burn ones did not have them as it was controlled by the lean burn computer system.
The pictures I just use the code from the site, it will give you a "forum code" to use. also make sure to change the size when uploading to fit this forum.
As for running nice? yes it does! its night and day diff between when I got it and now. The biggest things were, cat delete, GM HEI, 2bbl intake, Carb, Cap, rotor, all of which is detailed on this site. Once I made the switch to HEI it was so smooth running it was hard to believe. no shakes, stalls etc. And the mini starter was big help for when it was warm out.
