This was a fun project. I used ABS .110" thick to make this. I have since finished the side filler pieces made from aluminum. I can hardly wait to get it on the highway to see if I can feel the stability this is supposed to provide.





Since no one else will ever see the bottom of the car, you folks are the only ones I can show this off to. Now I intend to move on back, cleaning up the undersides. I'm getting ideas about how to clean up the air coming out from under the bumper.

One major improvement would be to put a spoiler on the trunk. But I still have the silly idea I do not want to make a major change in the appearance of the car. Did they ever put a spoiler on the 67-69 model Darts?

Thanks. That took a week to fit the top part with the air dam, and several evenings to fit the bottom pan. I had fitted a cover that extended from the radiator core support to the K frame last year. This pan ties into that cover in the center..

One big mistake which I want to go back and engineer a fix for is the lack of a trap door to access the radiator drain. I will wait until I must drain the radiator again to tackle that one. The project just got out of control and became bigger than anticipated to start.

I painted it Thursday evening then left for a weekend at the beach.

Have you had a chance to test this yet? if so did it provide the stability and fuel efficiency?

It would very hard to do good tesearch here. I change too many things to know for what caused what. I did drive it last week about 30 miles on the highway but could not tell much. Traffic was heavy and never got above 55. I plan on aligning the front end to put more caster in it. It is set at only 1.5 degrees now, and this leaves it a little antsy at speed. I want at least 4 in it.

Sometime I plan on making another extended highway drive as I did on the drive to Lou's this Summer. That may tell me something.

Thanks for asking. I was a little torn between extending the airdam out far enough to shield the wheels and keeping the appearance of the front fender profile stock looking. I chose to stop the air dam inboard more than ideal. But I like the look.

And the fender vents pull from the engine compartment?? Letting hot air out there might help with cooling.
Proper hood to radiator & hood to cowl weatherstripping could help airflow thru the radiator.
