Hello everybody!

My name is Jarmo and I'm from Tallinn, Estonia.
Been reading this board for a while now and finally decided to register myself so I could ask for some help if needed.

Been into cars for as long as I can remember. Hot rods and kustoms have a special place in my heart, but I also like a lot of other cars as well, up to '80-s and some '90-s stuff too.

Current rides are a Volvo 940 (that's the '90-s stuff ;) ) and the reason for this thread - Dodge Aspen.
Current project car is a Volvo Amazon from 1966. I owned it from 2004 to 2008, then sold it and bought back in 2012 as a gift for my girlfriend. Although, the car is packed in the boxes right now and the body is waiting for the restoration in the bodyshop. Plans are for mild custom, will see how it goes in the end.
Here's how it looked back in 2008:

Anyway, enough about the other stuff, here's more info about the Aspen:
225 and 904.
Before coming to Estonia this car has lived some (if not entire) of it's life in Finland.
Body's been worked and painted about 7-8 years ago. Still in quite OK shape, although it has a fair amount of wear-and-tear already.
Idea is to keep it in good driving condition and start working on the body maybe after a year or two.

I bought it in December 2012 and been driving it since, with few longer caps when it was in the shop.
Last year it got the transmission rebuild, some new gaskets for the engine, new spark plugs and wires, distributor cap & rotor, valve stem seals, belts, oils, filters. New oil for the diff, new tie rod's, shocks and some other this-and-that under there, new seals for the power steering etc.

I also have a spare engine that I would like to torn apart maybe in the autumn and then order some hop-up equipment from Aussie Speed Shop for example.

Today I got through the mandatory annual tech inspection, everything was OK for the guys there and I can continue driving legally.

Don't have a lot of good photos unfortunately, only two at the moment:

Here she is with the 8-spoke winter-mode wheels. Although there's been quite mellow winter this year, more like an autumn changed (almost) to spring.

Cheers!
Jarmo

I would also like to post a question already, for getting some help with a problem. Well, actually it's two problems now, since one arose from the other.

Is it possible to change the wiper/turn signal lever, if the cables are a bit different on the old and new one? To remove some of the cables etc?

Here's the photo of the new lever. There's quite many cables going into the black plug, but the one that's on the car currently, has only three cables going to the black plug.

Any suggestions?

The whole problem started from this:
wipers are stopping guite a lot. And when stopping then the relay (the green box) makes a screeching noise. Then I need to turn the wipers off and then back to working. Sometimes they work again, sometimes the noise and pausing continues.
Quite difficult and not pleasant at all when driving in the rain or snow.

At first I thought that the green box are the reason for this problem, but the new one acts the same way.
And since I was trying to get the lever out from the steering column, then I probably broke something in there, so the brights won't activate anymore.

So if you have an suggestion of how to solve the wiper stopping and screeching problem too, then I'm listening :)

PS! How do you remove the steering column anyway? I can't seem to find how it's done.

PPS! Please excuse my English. I'm not a native speaker and sometimes I struggle finding the right words and expressions etc. And unfortunately I don't know all the tech lingo in English yet too.

Hello

Could anybody suggest me where could I buy a lowering blocks set for Dodge Aspen?

First I ordered the Belltech 6100 kit, but this won't fit - the U-bolts seemed to be too big and the center of the blocks is somewhat off for this car.
I chose this kit because the width of the blocks matched the width on leafs, but unfortunately I didn't consider the other, abovementioned factors.

So, is there any kind of lowering block kit that is suitable for Aspens?

Thank you!
