Why not two 2bbl progressive carbs?

I don't know, but my guess would be that the 2300 series is easy to mod, with parts galore, and he probably wasn't satisfied with the flow (or other characteristics) of most progressives.

Or, it could just be that this is a race only app and a progressive would hold no purpose? :?:

Progressive is not required.. With a pair of 500s 4412 there is not even the slightest hint of a bog or flat spot. Here is mine.

Thanks don. Didnt realize you had 500s on it! I think the twin 2bbl is the best arrangement for the best fuel distribution senario.

Thanks alot Don! Ive been following you for some time now as well! I love your car and your willingness to think outside the box. Great work! Kidd went 12.38@105.5 on a 1.65 60' today right off the trailer ,with the new intake..no real tuning and throttle cale issues not quite allowing wot...these slants love plenum volume..big carbs and tapered runners! Hes carrying the front wheel ten feet now!

Youll have to dig up the slips from the 12.32 clifford pass and compare 60'..think you told me 1.73...so a tenth at the 60' is impressive in my eyes..a tenth in the quarter is roughly a car length typically..by the way it hung the tire..id say its makin some great midrange grunt. Be interesting to try the 2" spacer out next go! I believe the taper sorta broadens the effective range of the longish runners..sorta the best of both worlds. More tq with a top end than wont quit like the hyperpacks..cooler weather is coming and i dont see consistant 12.20s out of reach.

Im also under the idea that a open top air cleaner-without a hood..is actually loosing potential due to the fast air passing over the top of it..

:)

A little bread box scoop with the entry area slightly reduced in the front would probably pick up significant gains on these cars!..cheap experiment anyway!

Car ran its fastest pass yesterday 12.30 @ 106....1.63 60 ft, lifting the front tire about 8 or 10 inches, and carrying it foir like 10 feet.
