Back to the question of an oil pickup tube with the cavity at the rear of the engine. I found an engine from a truck with the cavity in the front. Can the pickup tube be used from this engine to the rear type of oil pan. This type oil pan is the only kind I can use and I am having a hard time finding a rear sump tube.

Hey Norm,
Do you want me to go back to the local pull a part and check those two Slant 6 vans? They both had the oil pans still installed. The engines have to be pulled to get the oil pan and pick up out. Ask me how I know :x

Rob

That would be great Rob. The oil cavity has to be in the rear of the engine to work. thanks

I just bought a new rear-sump pickup tube/screen from NAPA about 2 months ago...but beware, the first one they gave me was made from aluminum or some other incredibly soft metal, and the threads refused to start into the block. I took it back and had them look up a steel one. If I can find the receipt I will post the part #.

My apologies for my untimelyness... I did not have any luck finding the receipt from NAPA, thus no PN :( I did ask my local dealer about availability while I was there yesterday.....discontined (so they say, the parts dept up here is not the most helpful bunch.) I will continue the hunt for my receipt (I have a "stash" of them somewhere in the garage), or get the number from NAPA if I can get there before they close.
